News

January birds: 59 species have been reported in Ingham County thus far in 2012 as compiled by Jeff Pavlik. Some of note are: Tundra Swan – 52 flying over MSU, Swamp Sparrow, Savannah Sparrow, and Winter Wren. Others seen in low numbers include Northern Shrike, Common Redpoll, Purple Finch, and Pine Siskin.

 

Upcoming Events

March 1: "Emerald Ash Borer and Beech Bark Disease"
Dr. Deborah McCullough, MSU Department of Entomology
Dr. McCullough, a professor of forest entomology, will be speaking about what the future holds for ash trees in the aftermath of the emerald ash borer destruction and also about the threats posed to beech trees by beech bark disease.
