September 8: "School Backpack Program"

Ron Overton
Ron Overton, a Master Gardener and Beal Botanical Garden Volunteer Coordinator, will share his favorite plants for wildlife, birds especially, and describe how to successfully grow them at home.
January 5: Cerulean Warbler Conservation
Tom Funke, Director of Conservation, Michigan Audubon
Tom Funke will explain the natural history and conservation of the Cerulean Warbler, a Michigan Threatened Species and listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN, the only bird with such a designation in Michigan. Learn what you can do to help save this fast-declining songbird.
February 2: "Wildlife Damage Management Issues"
Pete Butchko, State Director - Wildlife Services, USDA
Pete Butchko will discuss the ecological harm that can be caused by excessively high numbers of wildlife from cormorants to white-tail deer.
March 1: "Emerald Ash Borer and Beech Bark Disease"
Dr. Deborah McCullough, MSU Department of Entomology
Dr. McCullough, a professor of forest entomology, will be speaking about what the future holds for ash trees in the aftermath of the emerald ash borer destruction and also about the threats posed to beech trees by beech bark disease.
April 5: "Ingham County Rural – A Township Tour through the Seasons"
Jim Hewitt
Traveling by bicycle, Jim Hewitt, a current CAAS Board member, has photographed the wildflowers growing along the county roadsides. Farm lands, scenery, and Ingham County history are also featured in this audio-visual program.
May 3: "Alaska"
Ann Hancock, CAAS Board Member and Call Note Editor
Ann Hancock will describe her trip to Alaska with Field Guides in June of 2011. The tour birded the Anchorage area, the Pribilof Islands and Denali National Park
June 7: Member Slide Show
This is the annual end-of-year member photo program and ice cream social.
